How do I propose a new Member Group?

The Trustee Board have approved changes to the Community Group Model.

Six principles underpin it:

  1. Regional hubs are formed across the UK.
  2. Specialist Faculties are formed to align with areas strategically.
  3. BCS Membership and Volunteer Engagement team will only support hubs and faculties operationally.
  4. Budgets will only be allocated to hubs and faculties.
  5. The Community Board will own the Standardised terms of reference for hubs and faculties.
  6. Chairs of hubs and faculties will be appointed through the Community Board.

As such, the Community Board no longer approves the creation of other groups and works with hubs and faculties.

How hubs and faculties determine the best means of coordinating in subgroups is not determined via the Community Board, and therefore any decisions on such groups being created are the responsibility of the hubs and faculties, once they have been established.
